It's not always the plans we make that determine the course of our life. In fact, that is rarely the case. For me, it was my mother who made the plans. I imagine that's the case for most people. Parents making plans that move the lives of every generation to follow them- jumping state lines, gaining or losing fortunes. In my case, it was my mother's plan not to be a mother that shaped my life. Being a mother didn't align with her plan of pursuing art full time. Her ambitions moved me from state to state, following inspiration and adjunct position in equal frequency. My wants or needs rarely factored into her plans, other than making sure that I had shelter and food- the basics.
