Prompt:
At its core, planning is an action that requires hope. It requires the tacit belief that another day, month, year, will come and that you will here, living your life, changing and growing, ready to reap the benefits of all the plans you've made. Looking ahead, what are your plans for the future? Who will you be next year, next month, or tomorrow even?
response:
I don't know much about the future, but I know I want to be different.
I think about if I had to survive in the apocalyptic world the news and social media predicts I would have to change. As I am now, I doubt I'd make it. I'm too nice, to considerate, to reliant on the decency of others, too willing to compromise, to unashamed of my vulnerabilities.
Niceness, consideration and decency barely exist now, so I know they will be the first things to go extinct once the apocalypse hits. So I either need to be strong enough to protect whatever remains of those ephemeral things, or willing to do away with them all together... none of my plans are concrete.
